Artist Stretch

So, I’ve been having quite a bit of fun these past few months trying out new techniques in my art. Stretching myself as an artist was a little daunting at first. I didn’t want to feel like I was trying to be something I’m not. This called for a re-routing of my thoughts. Growth is integral to all aspects of life; I had to step out and make changes! Some of the things I’ve been working on, I didn’t really consider “art” at first. It was more of crafting and fiddling around, but I have slowly been able to integrate my new skills into my own style of work. I must say, it has been very enjoyable. Lots of “happy accidents” and plenty of “What were you thinking Satya?”

I’ve been taking time to really enjoy the new direction my work has been heading. I’ve slowed down some on other projects so that I can delve deeper and make sure the intent of my work is in line with my mission as an artist and community organizer. Hopefully others embrace it as well and it empowers them to live their lives full of purpose and fun! I’m looking forward to revealing the finished product of some of my new pieces.

In the meantime, here’s a peak at some of what I’ve been up to. Oh yeah, I was also featured in the August/ September issue of Aurora Creates and I participated in my very first chalk art event!
