EVO Japan 2018

New developments on EVO Japan 2018 financial loss, the venue might not have tipped the fascial boat over. It could have been unnecessary expenses. A writer was hired as the CEO of EVO Japan who had ties to the fighting game community but potentially no money management skills.
Boss Key Productions shuts down
Cliff Bleszinski, game director of Gears of War, decided to call it quits on his company. Before Radical Heights, which a Battle Royale style game, him and his team created LawBreakers. Bleszinski was hoping LawBreakers would break into the esports world unfortunately, it never caught on. Everyone agreed it was a great game, the audience never came forth. He had the same hopes for Radical Heights and again, it didn’t get too much traction. Many people felt like Bleszinki was late to the party which each of these games.
*Personal Opinion: I agree about being late with Radical Heights, we have sooo many and Fortnite Battle Royale mode became popular on accident. I really loved LawBreakers, the characters were diverse and well animated. I had a chance to speak to a dev at E3 and I told him how excited I was for this game to come out.
Here I am talking about how awesome the game was at E3.
Overwatch
Overwatch Season 1 Stage 4 starts tomorrow. There is a patch going live but we’re not sure what it is. We do know that Bridgette will be live for the first time in Season 1. There will also be Lucio buffs, Hanzo rework, Genji, Bridgette, Junkrat and Tracer nerfs. The map order is changes from A-H-C-E to H-A-C-E and Oasis is taken out of the tie breaker maps to normal rotation.
Stage 4 ends June 17th.
